Assam Rifles Orchestrates National Integration Tour to Amritsar for Mizoram Orphans

Northeast Desk, 7th December: Assam Rifles orchestrated a national integration tour to Amritsar, Punjab, catering to the orphans of Mizoram on November 20, 2023.

The tour, flagged off by Brigadier Girish Upadhya, SM**, VSM, DIG Mizoram Range, commenced its journey from Aizawl.

Come December 5, 2023, the flagging-in ceremony transpired, graced by the presence of caretakers, teachers, and guardians associated with the orphanage. The primary objective of this initiative was to offer the orphans a distinctive exposure to various cultures in India and explore renowned tourist destinations in and around Amritsar.

The National Integration Tour, through orchestrated interactions and cultural exchanges, significantly contributed to nurturing a sense of unity and inclusivity among the participants. Thirteen orphans, accompanied by three teachers and four representatives of the Mizoram Student Union, actively participated in this enriching experience. The children not only enjoyed close interactions with the armed forces but were also provided with insights that could potentially inspire them to consider a career in the armed forces in the future.

In light of this commendable initiative, the orphanage authorities expressed profound gratitude and showered praises on Assam Rifles for their thoughtful and impactful endeavor.
