Assam Rifles Seize Illicit Liquor in Manipur Operations; 2 held
Northeast Desk, 6th November: Assam Rifles conducted successful operations in Manipur, leading to the seizure of significant quantities of illicit liquor.
Two individuals were apprehended in the Mata area of Churachandpur district on November 4.
A total of 2,424 bottles of Jockey Gold and 885 bottles of Juntus Beer were recovered from a mini-truck at the Khuga Dam Checkpost.
The suspects, along with the seized contraband, were handed over to the Churachandpur Police Station for further legal proceedings.
In another operation, Assam Rifles, operating under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), launched a search operation in the general area of Ngaljang in Suangdoh Sub-Division, Churachandpur.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 1,728 bottles of Myanmar-origin Jockey Gold liquor on Sunday.
The seized liquor was subsequently handed over to the Singhat Police Station for further legal proceedings.
