Assam Rifles Seizes Rs 1 Crore Worth of Contraband Cigarettes in Mizoram
Aizawl: In a significant blow to smuggling activities, Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with the Customs Preventive Force, Champhai, seized 77 cases of foreign-origin cigarettes valued at over Rs 1 crore in the Chhungte area of Champhai district, Mizoram.
The operation, conducted on December 16, 2024, was based on specific intelligence inputs. The seized contraband, worth a staggering Rs 1 crore, highlights the scale of smuggling operations in the region.
Assam Rifles, known for its relentless efforts to combat smuggling and other illegal activities in the Northeast, has once again demonstrated its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders. By seizing this substantial quantity of contraband, the force has not only dealt a significant financial blow to smugglers but also disrupted their operations.
