‘Assam Rifles Sentinel Cup (Men) 2024’ Kicks Off Promoting Sportsmanship and Unity

Guwahati, 2nd July: The Assam Rifles has officially launched the ‘Assam Rifles Sentinel Cup (Men) 2024’, a prestigious football tournament aimed at fostering sportsmanship and camaraderie among various teams. Scheduled from July 1 to 12, the tournament will see eight competitive men’s teams from Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, the Indian Army, and the Assam Rifles battling it out for glory.

The opening ceremony, league matches, and semi-finals are set to unfold at the Assam Rifles Training Centre and School (ARTC&S) in Dimapur and Shokhuvi, Nagaland. The culmination of the event, the final match, will be held at Laitkor in Shillong, Meghalaya, during the second week of July.

An Assam Rifles spokesperson highlighted the significance of the tournament, stating, “The Assam Rifles Sentinel Cup (Men) 2024 not only celebrates the spirit of competition but also strengthens the bonds between our brave soldiers and the communities they protect. We are looking forward to witnessing thrilling matches and commendable sportsmanship throughout the tournament.”

The event commenced with vibrant cultural performances, inspiring speeches, and enthusiastic participation, underscoring its role in promoting unity and solidarity among the armed forces and the local community.
