Guwahati: In a tragic accident that occurred in Gardenpur village under Gosaingaon subdivision, resulting in the death of a tractor driver and leaving another individual critically injured.
The incident took place when a tractor, en route to a field for ploughing, reportedly lost control and slipped into an irrigation canal.
The driver, identified as Robiram Najari, was crushed beneath the vehicle and died on the spot. Another individual, Shalpati Raja Basumatari, who was accompanying him on the tractor, sustained grievous injuries and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Local residents rushed to the scene following the accident, and authorities have since the investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the mishap. Preliminary reports suggest that slippery ground near the canal may have contributed to the vehicle losing balance.
The authorities are working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the accident. The investigation will aim to provide a clearer understanding of what happened and whether any measures can be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
