Guwahati, 12th September: In a tragic accident early this morning in the Gotonga area of Samaguri, one person lost his life and another sustained injuries when a fish-laden vehicle overturned. The vehicle, en route from Barpeta to Sulung, lost control and veered off the road, eventually overturning on the opposite side.
The victim, identified as Saddam Hussain, was killed on the spot. Another individual in the vehicle suffered minor injuries and received immediate medical attention. The vehicle, bearing registration number AS01PC2411, was transporting fish at the time of the accident.
Samaguri police promptly arrived at the scene to manage the situation and ensure the smooth flow of traffic. An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway, with local authorities urging drivers to exercise caution, especially given rising concerns about road safety in the region.
