Assam: Senior Congress Leader Sailen Bora Resigns from Party Membership

Guwahati, 21st March: Senior Congress leader Sailen Bora dealt a significant blow to the Assam Congress by resigning from the primary membership of the party on Thursday, March 21, just ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Bora, who held key positions within the party including Executive and Primary member of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) and served as the general secretary of the Assam Congress for two decades, was also a member of the Congress Working Committee at the time of his resignation.

According to reports, Bora submitted his resignation to APCC Chief Bhupen Borah via email on Wednesday.

In his resignation letter, Bora stated, “I am resigning from the Executive and Primary membership of APCC effective from tomorrow dated 21st March 2024.”
