Guwahati, 21st October: In a peculiar and unexpected turn of events, a senior police officer managed to escape from the Rowta Police Station in Udalguri when agents from the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption department arrived to conduct a raid on October 20.
According to initial reports, a team from the vigilance and anti-corruption department was en route to the police station for a surprise inspection.
Upon receiving information about their imminent arrival, the Officer-in-Charge of Rowta Police Station, Kobin Rabha, hastily fled, leaving behind his uniform.
It is suspected that the senior officer fled out of fear that he might be ensnared and apprehended.
The Udalguri Police have not yet confirmed the reasons that prompted the anti-corruption team to initiate the raid at the police station.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the missing OC of Rowta Police Station.
