Assam Shocker: Woman Allegedly Gang-Raped by 5 at Buriganga Waterfall; 1 Arrested

Guwahati, 11th October: Amid the escalating concerns regarding the rising incidents of crimes against women, a horrifying gang rape case has come to light in the vicinity of Buriganga Waterfall, a tourist destination in Doboka under Assam’s Hojai district. According to reports, a young woman was subjected to a traumatic ordeal as she was sexually assaulted by five men.

The victim had visited the tourist spot with her boyfriend, who tragically found himself unable to protect her as the five assailants committed this heinous crime. Later, with the assistance of local residents, the boyfriend managed to rescue the unconscious victim and immediately took her to the Doboka Police Station.

The Doboka Police acted swiftly, rushing the victim to a nearby hospital for immediate medical care due to her unconscious state. Simultaneously, they initiated a search operation to apprehend the culprits responsible for this horrific act. After a few hours, the police successfully arrested one of the accused in Habigaon, with efforts ongoing to locate the remaining four individuals.

Recent reports suggest that the tourist spot has unfortunately become a hotspot for various criminal activities, including car theft and rape, causing significant concern among local residents and visitors alike.
