Assam: Shocking Attempted Assault on Woman in Lala Railway Station
A chilling incident has sent ripples of concern through Assam’s Hailakandi district, after two men were arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a woman inside a stationary train at Lala Railway Station on Thursday night. The victim, whose identity has been withheld, had reportedly ventured to the station premises to purchase a train ticket when the heinous act unfolded.
According to the brave woman’s complaint, the accused, identified as Binod Basfor and Pankaj Deb, allegedly exploited the deserted nature of the railway station at night. They are accused of cornering her and attempting to sexually assault her inside one of the idle train coaches.
The quick response of the local authorities, following the victim’s immediate complaint, led to the swift apprehension of both suspects. Both Binod Basfor and Pankaj Deb are currently in police custody, undergoing rigorous interrogation as the investigation into this disturbing case is underway.
