Assam: Silchar Municipal Board Launches Intensive Cleaning and Drainage Operations for a Healthier City
Silchar – In a dedicated effort to enhance cleanliness and maintain sanitation, the Silchar Municipal Board has initiated an extensive cleaning and drainage operation across various wards.
The initiative, a joint effort with Cachar District Administration, aims to bolster environmental health for all residents of Silchar.
Safai Mitra teams, the sanitation workforce, were actively deployed to identified hotspots within the city, implementing targeted cleaning strategies.
In Ward No. 16 along Link Road, advanced mini super sucker machines were employed to clear drainage channels, improve street cleanliness, and prevent flooding by enhancing water flow.
Meanwhile, in Ward No. 05 at Rongpur V.I.P Road, a larger super sucker machine was deployed to reinforce the local drainage system. This intervention seeks to alleviate waterlogging concerns, ensuring a more robust sanitation infrastructure.
This coordinated campaign underscores the commitment of the Silchar Municipal Board and Cachar District Administration to create a clean, healthy, and safe environment for all residents, fostering a better quality of life for the community.
