Assam: Speaker Biswajit Daimary’s Convoy Involved in Collision, ASI Injured

Guwahati, 29th April: A collision involving the convoy of Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary unfolded at Rakhaldubi in Bongaigaon on April 29, stemming from a head-on crash with a truck.

The incident transpired as Speaker Daimary was traversing from Kokrajhar to Salbari in Baksa district, marking an unexpected turn in his journey.

The collision entailed a Mahindra Scorpio, registered under number 25T 9485, part of Speaker Daimary’s convoy, and a truck identifiable by registration number AS 01LC 9156. Among the affected individuals, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Hemant Goswami sustained injuries during the lamentable occurrence.

Prompt medical attention was extended to the injured ASI Hemant Goswami, who was expeditiously transported to the hospital due to a minor head injury.

Authorities have launched investigations into the circumstances precipitating the accident to ascertain its root causes and proactively enforce preventive measures to forestall the recurrence of similar incidents in the future.
