Assam: Specially-Abled Man Successfully Completes Cycle Trip, ‘Our Golden Assam’

Guwahati: Two elderly people from Lakhimpur have demonstrated that anything is possible with focus, willpower and determination in an effort to show that they are not less than anyone.

The two set out on a protracted bicycle journey from their hometown of Gohpur to Dhubri, spreading the theme of “Our Golden Assam” and promoting peace, harmony and brotherhood.

It is noteworthy that one of them is a specially-abled man identified as Munindra Bora who is accompanied by his friend Har Govind Mahanta of Azad in Lakhimpur. Despite not having a leg Bora has been cycling across Assam.

In order to disseminate the word about “Our Golden Assam,” Har Govind a friend of Bora travelled with him on a bicycle.

They left Lakhimpur on bicycles, passed through Sadiya, Dibrugarh and Dhubri and landed in Gohpur and also will return to Lakhimpur on March 12. Many citizens of Gohpur observed this and volunteered to support and encourage them.

”I am from Lakhimpur. I started my journey from Lakhimpur and travelled via Sadiya, Dibrugarh, and Dhubri and finally, we reached Gohpur today. We will end our journey by today itself in Lakhimpur,” Bora said while speaking to the media.

”For a long, I was thinking of exploring Assam. I asked for a cycle from Lakhimpur MLA and he said whether I would be able to do it or not. I assured him that I can do it and then I started my journey from Lakhimpur,” he added.

Meanwhile, a 72-year-old man from Mumbai, who has travelled to eight countries by bicycle arrives in Pathshala on March 12. He spread the holy message of the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives to save the country.

After visiting Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, China, Pakistan, Singapore, and Jakarta, the person identified as Manohar Shakharam Kadam, is now on his way to Guwahati.
