Guwahati, 30th December: In a tragic incident, a speeding pickup truck crushed a 35-year-old woman to death in Margherita, Tinsukia, in the early hours of December 30.
The victim, identified as Banti Singphou Tsering, was riding a bicycle near Bharat Petrol Pump at Margherita No. 1 Makum Ground when the accident occurred at 5:40 am.
Banti Singphou Tsering, the wife of local businessman Anup Tsering, was reportedly on a morning walk when the pickup truck, carrying goods, lost control and fatally struck her.
The local police have seized the pickup truck with registration number AS-32-C-0255 involved in the incident.
The tragic incident has left the community in shock, highlighting the need for road safety awareness and precautions.
