Guwahati: A tragic incident unfolded in the Charaldanga area under Gauripur police station in Dhubri, Assam, where a speeding tractor struck a mother and her seven-year-old daughter.
The victims were reportedly bathing near a hand pump outside their residence when the accident occurred. The impact left both mother and child critically injured.
Eyewitness accounts detail that the tractor, laden with bricks, was traveling at an excessive speed when it collided with the mother and daughter.
Immediate responders from the local community transported the severely injured individuals to Gauripur Popular Nursing Home, where they are currently receiving urgent medical attention. Their condition is described as critical.
The tractor involved in the accident is allegedly owned by Abu Hanif, identified as the personal assistant to the local MLA of Gauripur.
