Assam STF Apprehends Four Suspected Drug Peddlers in Khanapara
Guwahati, 19th October: A well-coordinated operation conducted by the Special Task Force (STF) in Assam led to the apprehension of four suspected drug peddlers, including two women, in Khanapara under the Overbridge area, located within the jurisdiction of Basistha Police Station.
During the raid, the STF seized 86 vials containing heroin weighing approximately 119.5 grams. The operation also led to the confiscation of Rs 1,100 in cash and three mobile phones.
The individuals arrested in connection with the drug bust are Dhon Rabha, Ainul Sheikh, Ketep Boro, and Sunabanu Begum. Following their apprehension, the accused, along with the seized items, were handed over to the Basistha Police Station.
In another significant step aimed at ensuring the safety and integrity of educational institutions, authorities successfully detained alleged drug peddlers at the entrance of BN College, a renowned educational institution in Dhubri, Assam, on October 18.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Hamidur Rahman, aged 32, from Gauripur Beguntali, and Saiful Islam from College Nagar area, Dhubri.
Under the leadership of Kapil Chandra Das, in charge of BN College Town out Post, the operation led to the discovery of approximately 5.33 grams of a substance suspected to be illicit. Additionally, a significant sum of Rs 34,900 and a vehicle with registration number AS-01AW-3842 were confiscated from the possession of the arrested individuals.
