Assam STF Arrest Woman With Drugs In Early Morning Crackdown In Guwahati

Guwahati, 30th March: In an early morning anti-narcotics crackdown in Guwahati, a total of 56 containers filled with drugs were seized, and a woman was apprehended on Saturday. The operation was conducted by the special task force of Assam Police (STF, Assam) targeting individuals involved in drug trafficking.

The detained woman, identified as Sun Bano Begum, a resident of Boragaon area in Guwahati, was found in possession of the 56 small containers filled with drugs. Officials stated that the substances were meant for peddling to prospective buyers in the area.

However, the exact quantity and purity of the seized drugs are yet to be ascertained, and the substances have been sent to the lab for testing. The officials refrained from putting a price on the busted narcotics for the time being.

Sun Bano Begum was taken to Basistha Police Station for interrogation to determine the source of the drugs. Subsequently, she will be processed for further legal action, according to officials.

Under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Assam Police has launched a stringent anti-narcotics campaign. With the latest drug haul, the authorities emphasized their commitment to maintaining the campaign’s momentum to curb drug-related issues within the city.
