Guwahati, 1st October: In a collaborative operation, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police, in conjunction with the Kamrup district police, successfully recovered 250 grams of heroin concealed within 20 soap boxes within Guwahati city on September 30.
Notably, law enforcement also apprehended the primary drug supplier in the Basistha area of Guwahati. Acting on vital information, a combined task force comprising STF and Kamrup police initiated a thorough search operation and intercepted a vehicle at Amingaon. During the operation, the search team discovered 20 soap cases, each containing heroin.
Commending the dedication of Assam Police, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his appreciation on platform X, stating, ” #AssamAgainstDrugs @KamrupPolice & STF jointly intercepted a vehicle at Amingaon; seized 20 soap boxes of Heroin (250 gm) concealed in it. Three accused have been apprehended. The main supplier based in a neighboring state has also been nabbed in Basistha. Good work @assampolice.”
