Guwahati: A 21-year-youth was arrested for his alleged involvement in a gang rape case of a student in Assam’s Dibrugarh on Monday.
The person identified as Aryan Das was suspected to be the main accused among the three who were involved in the act.
According to reports, the incident took place a few months ago and police have come to know about the incident after the complaint was lodged by the survivor.
As per the complaint, the victim was on her way to college along with the prime accused on a scooty. In the mid, the two-wheeler had some problem and the prime accused called his brother-in-law and took her in a car.
She had allegedly drunk a sedative-laced drink offered to her and she fell unconscious. Later she found herself at a house where her collegemate and another youth were present, the complaint added.
The victim further claimed that she was raped by her classmate and they further clicked her nude photos.
Following the complaint, the police have arrested her classmate and she was being sent for medical examination.
Further investigation into the matter is on to nab the other accused in the case.
