Assam Student Wins Bronze in Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Writing Competition

Guwahati, 9th November: Chaitanyamoi Chetia, a 14-year-old student from Assam, has secured the bronze medal in the prestigious Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Writing Competition of 2023.

Chetia, a class 9 student at St. Joseph’s High School in Charaideo district, wrote on the topic ‘Does age matter?’

This year’s competition received a remarkable 34,924 entries, making it a record-breaking event.

Organized by the Royal Commonwealth Society, the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition has been engaging young writers since 1883.

Chetia, who has been passionate about writing since the age of eight, has also won several awards in international essay writing competitions. In addition to his writing achievements, he is known for his storytelling skills on various platforms.

In 2021, Chetia received a consolation prize from the Ministry of Education, Malaysia, in the ASiS International Essay Writing Competition for his outstanding piece on the theme “Conserving our Precious Birdlife – Hornbills: A Global Perspective.”

Alongside his achievements in essay writing, Chaitanyamoi showcases his storytelling skills on platforms such as storyhouse.org, Reflections.live, and Voice-of-Views-Takhte.in.
