Assam: Suspected Drug Smuggler Arrested in Bijni, Major Drug Seizure Made

Bijni, 29th September: In a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking, Bijni police apprehended a suspected drug smuggler in the town’s wholesale market area on September 28. The accused, identified as Ahiz Miah (49), a resident of Kawatika in Bijni, was caught in possession of suspected heroin during a targeted operation.

Police officials seized a scooty with the registration number AS-15Q-8449, along with 23 containers suspected to be filled with heroin. An additional empty container was also recovered from the scene, possibly used in the drug trafficking operation.

Ahiz Miah has been taken to the Bijni police station for further interrogation as authorities investigate the case. The seized substances are being sent for analysis to confirm their composition and quantity. The arrest is part of an ongoing crackdown against drug-related activities in the region.
