Assam: Suspected Food Poisoning in Tinsukia District Hospitalizes 15-20 People
Guwahati, 17th May: In a troubling incident, at least 15-20 people from Phillobari village in Assam’s Tinsukia district were hospitalized following a suspected bout of food poisoning this morning. The affected individuals, all from the same village near Doomdooma, fell ill after consuming their traditional dish, ‘polu leta’ (pupae).
Sources indicate that the victims exhibited clear symptoms of food poisoning soon after eating the dish. They were promptly admitted to Phillobari Model Hospital and Tinsukia Civil Hospital for treatment.
The incident has sparked concern among the local community, as they await further updates on the condition of the affected individuals and the investigation into the cause of the food poisoning.
