Guwahati: President Droupadi Murmu presented the National Awards to Teachers to Meenakshi Goswami, the principal of Chandranath Higher Secondary School in Sonitpur district of Assam on Monday at the Vigyan Bhawan.
Meenakshi Goswami was one of 46 teachers from all around India who received the award from the President today in honour of Teachers’ Day.
Goswami received the national honour for her contributions to the profession.
The Department of School Education and Literacy of the Ministry of Education hosts a nationwide event to present the National Awards to the nation’s top educators on September 5th every year.
Teachers who have improved the standard of education at their schools and improved the lives of their students are recognised with the “National Awards for Teachers 2022.”
On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will later meet with the recipients of the “National Awards to Teachers 2022” at his residence at 4.30 p.m.
