Assam: Teenage Boy Drowns in Karimganj District

Guwahati, 4th May: A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in the Son Beel area of Ramakrishnanagar, located in Assam’s Karimganj district, as a teenage boy met his untimely demise while returning from his maternal uncle’s residence.

The victim, identified as Rajyaeshwar Das, aged 13, was on his way to board a small boat when tragedy struck. The boat capsized under the force of strong winds, leading to the devastating accident.

Locals grew concerned upon spotting the empty boat adrift, prompting them to launch a rescue operation. Despite their efforts, Rajyaeshwar Das was found lifeless in the water, and his body was recovered using a fishing net. The news of his tragic death has sent shockwaves throughout the community, leaving behind a deep sense of sorrow and disbelief.

Authorities swiftly responded to the scene, with the police recovering the boy’s body. Subsequently, arrangements were made for the transfer of the body to the Karimganj Civil Hospital for postmortem examination.

The loss of Rajyaeshwar Das has cast a shadow of sadness over the region, prompting contemplation on the fragility of life and the critical importance of safety measures, particularly in the face of unpredictable natural conditions.
