Guwahati, 29th October: A tense situation unfolded at Binapani Nursing Home and Hospital in Barpeta road, with a bizarre incident involving a surgery that was abruptly halted.
The incident centers on a 60-year-old woman, Rousshanara Ahmed, who was receiving treatment for gallbladder stones at Binapani Nursing Home. Dr. Abulaiz Muktaz Ahmed was assigned to perform the surgery. However, during the operation, the doctor stopped and instructed the patient’s family to transfer her to Barpeta Hospital as he could not complete the surgery.
Adding to the distress, the victim’s family alleged that, despite presenting the Ayushman card, the hospital authorities demanded Rs 10,000 for the surgery.
This incident led to a heated situation within the hospital, and Dr. Abulaiz Muktaz Ahmed left the premises in a car.
