Tezpur, Assam: In a significant operation against illegal liquor trade, Tezpur police successfully intercepted a large consignment of Arunachali liquor near the Koliabhomora Bridge on Thursday.
Acting on credible intelligence, a police team strategically positioned itself near the bridge and flagged down a suspicious truck. Upon thorough inspection, the vehicle was found to be carrying a staggering 700 cartons of high-quality Arunachali liquor, with an estimated market value exceeding Rs 25 lakh.
The driver of the truck has been apprehended by the police and is currently in custody. Authorities are now delving deeper into the matter to unravel the entire smuggling network. Investigations are underway to identify the source of the liquor and its intended destination.
