Assam: Thieves Use Sedative Spray to Loot Cash and Gold in Guwahati
Guwahati: A meticulously planned burglary took place near the post office at Rest Camp in Maligaon, Assam, where thieves targeted the residence of one Mintu Dey. The perpetrators reportedly used a sedative spray to render the family unconscious, allowing them to carry out the heist without resistance.
The burglars managed to escape with Rs 50,000 in cash and gold ornaments valued at approximately Rs 7 lakh. The crime came to light only after the family regained consciousness and discovered their valuables missing. Subsequently, they filed an FIR at the Jalukbari Police Station, prompting swift action from law enforcement.
Upon receiving the complaint, officials from Jalukbari Police Station rushed to the scene and launched an investigation. The daring nature of the burglary has sparked concerns over security in the area, raising calls for heightened vigilance and improved preventive measures to curb such incidents.
