Assam: Three Arrested After Arms Recovered In Karbi Anglong
Guwahati, 25th February: Three individuals have been apprehended following the discovery of a substantial cache of arms and ammunition in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district, as confirmed by police on Sunday.
Acting on intelligence received, a collaborative operation involving the police and CRPF, spearheaded by Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Nayanmoni Barman, was initiated in Diphu on Saturday night.
Following interrogation, the suspects led the police team to a location where the weapons were concealed within bamboo thickets, according to a senior officer.
The recovered weapons, secured in a plastic packet, comprise an AK series rifle with its magazine, three pistols, and three live hand grenades, alongside two mobile phones.
A case has been filed at Diphu Police Station under various sections of the Arms Act of 1959, as authorities continue their investigation into the matter.
