Assam: Three arrested for allegedly killing leopard and eating meat in Boko

Guwahati, 25th January: Forest Department officials arrested three persons on January 24 on charge of trapping and killing a leopard and eating its meat.

The incident occurred at Hahim Nowapara Village in Boko of Assam’s Kamrup.

The arrested have been identified as Jayant Rabha, Kripananda Rabha, and Putul Rabha. All of them are residents of Nowapara Village.

According to sources, the unsettling incident transpired in the office area of the Bandapara forest range officer.

Currently, the forest department is conducting an investigation into the incident.

If convicted, the three arrestees could face up to seven years of imprisonment for killing the leopard and eating its meat.
