Guwahati, 29th November: In a landmark ruling, the District and Sessions Judge Court in Karimganj delivered justice as three individuals were sentenced to life imprisonment for the heinous murder of Nizam Uddin. The verdict comes 12 years after the tragic incident unfolded in August 2011.
The gruesome murder occurred in the jurisdiction of Patharkandi police station, stemming from a land-related dispute. Nizam Uddin fell victim to a brutal stabbing, leading to a case being registered promptly.
After over a decade of legal proceedings, the court’s decision has brought closure to the case. The three accused, found guilty of taking Nizam Uddin’s life, have now been confined to the Karimganj district jail to serve their life sentences. The verdict marks a significant step towards justice and serves as a testament to the perseverance of the legal system.
