Assam: Three Quarry Employees Rescued By Police From Armed Abductors

Guwahati, 4th December: Assam Police successfully executed a late-night operation, rescuing three quarry site employees who had been abducted by an unidentified armed group.

The rescue operation took place in a deep jungle along the Cachar-Dima Hasao border, where the victims—Raju Toti, Amit Orang, and Biswa Dharak—were found.

The employees, two of whom operated backhoe loaders and one served as a dumper driver, were abducted during a chaotic incident at the quarry site.

Gunmen entered the location, fired rounds in the air, and seized the individuals at gunpoint before fleeing into the nearby jungle.

Despite the successful rescue, the identity of the kidnappers remains unknown, as they managed to escape apprehension.

The incident has prompted police investigations, with officials exploring possible links to banned insurgent groups, considering the recent rise in similar abductions at quarries in the region.

The rescued individuals, hailing from Udarbond and Aina Chara areas, were subjected to a harrowing experience during the abduction, raising concerns about the safety of employees working in such locations. Authorities are vigilant and keeping all angles open as they continue to probe the incident.
