Assam to Celebrate Ali Ai Ligang with Local Holiday in 10 Districts: Minister Pijush Hazarika

Guwahati, 9th November: In a significant proclamation, Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika revealed the upcoming announcement of a local holiday in 10 districts of Assam in honor of Ali Ai Ligang.

Speaking passionately at a public gathering in Jonai, Lakhimpur, Hazarika criticized the Congress for a lack of development during their 60-year reign.

Shifting focus to the achievements under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s BJP government, Hazarika emphasized their relentless dedication to employment, women and child development, and economic progress.

He proudly shared the government’s commitment to fulfilling the promise of 1 lakh jobs, expressing optimism about surpassing the target with 1, 30,000 job openings for the youth.

Highlighting a shift in job distribution dynamics, Hazarika noted that under BJP’s governance, rural youth and economically weaker sections have secured the majority of employment opportunities, contrasting the past trend favoring affluent families.

Addressing financial burdens, Hazarika assured support to women with micro-finance loans, alleviating their repayment challenges.

Speaking of the Orunodoi scheme, he hinted at an expansion, contemplating the addition of more beneficiaries and an increase in the existing beneficiary amount from Rs 1200 to Rs 1450.

The day witnessed Minister Pijush Hazarika inaugurating the construction of a new building for the Water Resources Department’s Jonai Water Resources Sub-Division Office in Dhemaji district, underscoring the government’s commitment to infrastructural development.
