Assam to Publish Final Electoral Roll on February 8 Ahead of General Elections

Guwahati, 8th February: Assam gears up for the finalization of its electoral roll on February 8, following the first roll post-delimitation published on December 8, 2023.

Citizens can verify their names on the list through various avenues, including visits to the District Election Officer (DEO), the E.R.O., or the Circle Officer’s office. Alternatively, they can check at their respective polling stations or access the list online at www.ceoassam.nic.in. Further assistance can be sought from the Booth Level Officer (BLO) or through the Voter Helpline app and voters.eci.gov.in.

The delimitation process has resulted in a revised count of electors in Assam, totaling 2,43,02,460 individuals, including 1,22,12,483 male electors, 1,20,89,569 female electors, and 408 electors from the third gender. This marks an increase of 1,90,717 electors or 0.8 percent compared to previous data.

The publication of the final electoral roll aligns with the impending 2024 Indian general election in Assam, slated to be held on or before May 2024. This election will determine the representatives for the 14 Lok Sabha seats from Assam in the 18th Lok Sabha.

Efforts have been made to ensure accessibility to the electoral roll through various channels, including the Internet, Common Service Centres (Arunodoy Kendra), and Public Facilitation Centres (PFCs) at administrative offices, facilitating citizen access to certified copies of the voter list and enhancing transparency in the electoral process.
