Guwahati: Assam government is all set to implement the New Education Policy (NEP) in the state from April 1, 2022.
Sarma informed that the state government will implement NEP- 2020 from April 1, 2022, and under the new policy all the high schools will be upgraded to senior secondary schools. Chief Minister also said that the government would upgrade the academic infrastructure of the educational institutions for this purpose within a year.
He further stated that in the next five years the state government will continue to implement new policies and regulations every year to bring changes and development to the education sector. He also said that science and maths will be taught in English and the rest will be taught in vernacular languages.
Apart from this Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma distributed appointment letters to 767 candidates at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati in various directorates of the education department
