Assam Tourism & IHCL Signs MoU for Setting Up Hotel at Manas National Park

Guwahati: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Indian Hotel Company Limited (IHCL) and the Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) to establish hospitality ventures at Manas National Park.

The MoU was signed on Monday at Janata Bhawan in the presence of the Hotel Company’s executives, BTC Chief Pramod Bodo, and Tourism Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah.

Signing the MoU, Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah said, “Earlier feared to go to Manas but now the tourist flow has increased. Pramod Bodo has done a lot of hard work. We have succeeded in transforming terrorism to tourism. Today we have planned to construct hotel by making an agreement with the Tata Group. We have also tried to improve the infrastructure so that more tourists could be attracted towards Manas.”

He also mentioned that 3.25 acres of land will be used to build the hotel. This hotel under the Jinjar name will be built by Taj Group’s company in Manas National Park.

He noted that the hotel would have 70 to 80 rooms. Additionally, this hotel will attract more domestic and international visitors.
