Assam Tourism Inks MoU With Pawan Hans, Launch Helicopter Services in 6 Routes

Guwahati: Assam Tourism has collaborated with Pawan Hans Limited (PHL) to establish helicopter services on six routes in four sectors of the state, expanding the possibilities for air connectivity in the area.

Assam Tourism Development Corporation and Pawan Hans Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Guwahati on Wednesday.

The PHL has been given 86 routes to operate RCS flights across six states under the UDAN plan. Services will be provided 3 days a week.

The service will first be available on Assam’s “Dibrugarh-Jorhat-Tezpur-Guwahati-Tezpur-Jorhat-Dibrugarh” network.

A special emphasis is being placed by the RCS UDAN of the Ministry of Civil Aviation on establishing air connection to the isolated regions of the northeastern states that lack appropriate rail and road connectivity.

According to the Ministry, putting these roads into action will make it easier for locals to get around and enhance trade and tourism.
