Assam: Tributes Paid to Dr. Manmohan Singh in Boko
Assam: A wreath-laying and condolence ceremony was held today at West Bekeli Gram Panchayat No. 73 in Boko to honor the memory of late former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
The event was attended by several prominent leaders, including Leader of Opposition Debabrata Saikia, Dudhnai MLA Yadav Swargiyari, and Boko MLA Nandita Das, along with a large gathering of dignitaries and locals.
Tributes were paid to Dr. Singh’s portrait with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp and the offering of wreaths. The gathering reflected on his significant contributions to the region, particularly through the implementation of various development schemes under the No. 73 West Bekeli Village Panchayat MP Adarsh Gramin Yojana in Boko.
A highlight of the event was the formal inauguration of a public meeting hall constructed within the panchayat premises, funded by the Prime Minister’s MPLAD Fund during Dr. Singh’s tenure. The inauguration was led by Debabrata Saikia, symbolizing the continuation of the former Prime Minister’s vision for regional development.
