Assam: Trinamool Congress Aims for Four Lok Sabha Seats, Says President Ripun Bora

Guwahati, 27th December: Ripun Bora, the President of Trinamool Congress Assam, stated on Wednesday that his party is actively pursuing a claim for at least four Lok Sabha seats in the state within the INDIA bloc.

During a media interaction, Bora explained, “The ongoing seat-sharing agreement is in its final stages. However, the ultimate decision on seat allocation will rest with the national leaders of the INDI bloc, with the framework already established at the state level.”

Addressing his party’s seat-sharing aspirations, the TMC leader emphasized that every political party is vying for seats – with AAP seeking five, TMC eyeing four, CPI(M) pursuing one, and AJP again seeking one. Bora underscored the need for collective agreement when the Central Committee in Delhi makes the final decision.

Reports indicate that TMC has set its sights on Dhubri, Lakhimpur, Kokrajhar, and Karimganj Lok Sabha seats.

Bora asserted that Trinamool Congress has garnered substantial support among the state’s populace and is optimistic about putting up a strong performance in these four constituencies. He affirmed their determination to contend fiercely for the Karimganj Lok Sabha seat.
