Guwahati: A wild elephant’s carcass was found in a pond in Namrup of Dibrugarh district, Assam.
The body was found close to a thermal power plant. The jumbo is suspected to have perished from electrocution.
According to reports, due to the presence of an exposed live wire next to the carcass, indicates that the elephant may have come into touch with it.
Meantime, the forest officials arrived at the scene in the interim and took the carcass for an post mortem.
