Assam: Two Alleged Peddlers Apprehended in Shalbari, Buxar
Guwahati, 4th March: In a commendable effort to combat the pervasive drug trade in the region, the Anand Bazar police, with the active participation of local residents, have successfully apprehended two suspected drug peddlers in separate operations conducted in Shalbari, Buxar.
The first arrest was facilitated with the assistance of vigilant community members who succeeded in detaining a youth from Dalajani in Salbari. The suspect, identified as a drug addict, was intercepted at Kherkhatari.
Simultaneously, under the leadership of Salbari Sub-Divisional Police Officer Nilotpal Saikia, law enforcement agencies collaborated to conduct a coordinated raid resulting in the capture of another alleged drug peddler. This joint operation, carried out in conjunction with the Salbari and Gobardhana police departments, led to the apprehension of Jeherul Islam at his residence in Bilaspur village.
Both operations resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal narcotics. A total of 123 containers and 33 grams of heroin were recovered from the two suspects, marking a notable achievement in the ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the area.
