Assam: Two Arrested in Sonitpur with Heroin Worth Rs 30 Lakh
Assam: Chariduar Police in Sonitpur district made a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking on Tuesday night, arresting two individuals in possession of heroin valued at Rs 30 lakh.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted Ravi Lama and Michael P.G. while they were transporting the contraband on a motorcycle bearing the registration number AS-32-B-7900. The duo was en route from Khamnamukh to Arunachal Pradesh.
Following their arrest, the accused were formally charged and remanded to judicial custody. Police sources have lauded the operation, highlighting the consistent efforts to curb the increasing drug problem in the region.
