Assam: Two arrested with 612 gms of heroin in Karimganj

Guwahati, 6th February: In a recent development, the Assam Police conducted a successful anti-narcotics operation in Karimganj on February 5th. Authorities seized 612 grams of heroin from a vehicle originating from a neighboring state.

According to sources, a vigilant police team launched a thorough search operation and intercepted the vehicle.

Upon inspection, numerous boxes containing heroin were discovered concealed within secret compartments of the vehicle.

In connection with the operation, the police apprehended two individuals. Commending the Assam Police for their relentless efforts in combating drug trafficking, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his appreciation on X. He lauded the @karimganjpolice for their swift response to specific intelligence, leading to the successful interception of the narcotics-laden vehicle. The seizure of 612 grams of heroin underscores the state’s commitment to curbing the drug menace.
