Assam: Two arrested with deer meat in Bijni
Guwahati: Two persons who has been accused of the illegal trade of deer meat at a local market was arrested by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) from Chirang District of Assam on Tuesday.
The arrestees have been identified as Swaram Narzary and Rangalu Basumatary. Both of them is a resident of the Bijni town of the district.
According to reports, they have been accused of poaching and selling deer meat.
As per the SSB, they raided the duo at the Dumdum Bazar in Bijni after receiving information that they were dealing in illegal bushmeat. They discovered them selling deer meat.
They were found with 43 kg of deer meat, reports claimed.
Meanwhile, Both the suspects have been handed over to the local police.
It may be mentioned that there have been multiple allegations of illegal bushmeat being traded in the Indo-Bhutan border area.
