Assam: Two drug peddler arrested in Karbi Anglong

Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs Assam Police arrested two suspected drug peddlers in the Karbi Anglong district on Friday.

The incident took place in the Bokajan town of the district.

The arrestees have been identified as Vikoto Yeptomi and Hitoho Sumi. Both of them are the resident of Dimapur district of Nagaland.

According to reports, they were crossing the Dhansiri River at around 12:30 pm.

The police officials recovered around 1 kg 40 grams of suspected brown sugar from their possession.

The recovered drugs are worth over Rs 8 crores in the market.

It may be mentioned that the peddlers were transporting the drugs from Nagaland’s Dimapur to Bokajan in Karbi Anglong.
