Guwahati: Two forest officials in Kokrajhar district of Assam has been arrested by the sleuths of Vigilance & Anti Corruption cell for allegedly being involved in bribery charges on Friday.
The two officials have been identified as Forester Kamini Narzary, and Forest Guard Prabin Brahma.
According to the investigation agency, the two were allegedly caught in the act while taking demanded payment for regularising a forest issue in Gossaigaon.
Meanwhile, a case has been filed against the duo under the applicable laws.
The anti-corruption unit and the Assam Police are maintaining a close monitoring to stop all forms of corruption in the state. Numerous state government representatives were busted receiving bribes in the last few months.
