Assam: Two Killed in Head-On Collision in Golaghat

Guwahati: Two people were killed in a tragic road accident in Golaghat district of Assam on Wednesday morning.

The incident took place in the National Highway (NH) 37 at Latabari in Bokakhat of the district.

The two deceased have been identified as Bijoy Bahadur Chetri is a resident of Dhekiajuli while another person riding along him was Bijoy Lama of Dimapur in Nagaland.

According to reports, two were killed in a head-on collision between a two-wheeler and Mahindra Bolero pickup truck.

Both the riders were heading towards Bokakhat from Nagaon, when they met the accident and died on the spot.

As per reports, two-wheeler caught fire after the collision and one of the deceased was charred along with it.

The two-wheeler had registration numbers AS 12 AA 5593 and was registered in the name of Durga Bahadur Chetri.

It needs to be noted that the Bolero pickup truck was travelling from Arunachal Pradesh to Nagaon with the registration number AS 06 BC 5429.

However, the truck was reportedly carrying Tamul and had eight passengers coming from Arunachal Pradesh to Assam’s Nagaon.
