Assam: Two Lives Lost in Guwahati Flyover Accident

Guwahati: A tragic road accident occurred on the Supermarket flyover in Guwahati, claiming the lives of a Rapido driver and his pillion rider.

The incident unfolded when an unidentified vehicle struck their motorcycle from behind, causing severe injuries to both occupants.

The Rapido driver, 24-year-old Ranjit Rajbongshi, hailing from Chaplakuchi in Nalbari, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.

The female pillion rider, whose identity remains unknown, was immediately transported to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for critical care. However, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, she was declared dead upon arrival.

The ill-fated motorcycle, bearing the registration number AS-01 BU 7601, sustained significant damage in the collision.

Local authorities, including the police, swiftly responded to the accident site. An investigation has been launched to identify the hit-and-run vehicle and unravel the sequence of events that led to this devastating incident.
