Guwahati: In a horrifying incident, two minor sisters drowned in a pond in Darrang district of Assam on Sunday.
The incident was reported at Simamuria Bhakatpara area.
According to reports, the tragedy occurred when the duo went to the pond for fishing.
The deceased minor girls have been identified as Silsina Marak and Martina Marak.
The bodies were recovered from the pond following the incident.
Police also reached the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
