Assam: Two Trains Cancelled and 5 Trains Diverted

Guwahati, 3 June: The death toll in the deadly train accident in Odisha has risen to 288 and more than 1,000 passengers were also reportedly injured so far.

The accident took place in Balasore where three trains collided, Karmandal, Jaswantpur Express and a goods train met with an accident.

Following the incident, 48 trains were cancelled among which two trains to arrive Assam have been cancelled.

12509 SMVT BENGALURU- GUWAHATI SUPERFAST EXPRESS and 12551 SMVB BENGALURU-KAMAKHYA AC SUPERFAST EXPRESS EXPRESS on June 2 have been cancelled.

On the other hand, Railway Department has also changed the routes of 39 trains each. Of these, there are five trains to arrive in Assam and Northeast.

These are-

12509 SMVT BENGALURU- GUWAHATI SUPERFAST EXPRESS

15929 Tambaram-New Tinsukia EXPRESS traveled on June 2

Travelling on June 2 7047 DIBRUGARH- Secunderabad Special

12503 SMVB- AGARTALA HUMSAFAR EXPRESS traveled

7029 AGARTALA- SECUNDERABAD SPECIAL

Apart from this, the Railway Department has partially cancelled 10 trains each.
