Guwahati: A militant belonging to the banned United Liberation Front of Asom– Independent (ULFA-I) has been injured in an encounter with the police in Charaideo district of Assam on Friday.
The incident took place at around 2 am in the Sonari town of the district.
The injured militant identified as Suraj Gogoi.
According to reports, he was shot on his left leg by the Charaideo Police for allegedly trying to escape from the police.
It may be mentioned that he is currently receiving treatment at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh.
